Alan John Jett probably won't be getting any father-of-the-year awards after he killed a prostitute then asked his young son to help him dump her body.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office has charged the Orlando dad with first-degree murder in the June killing, after Jett's fifth-grade son told a classmate about the slaying.

The boy led police to the remote location where he helped his dad dump the body of Lashanda Rae Brand.

According to the arrest affidavit, the boy was with his father when he picked up Brand. They went back to Jett's apartment, and Jett and Brand retired to Jett's bedroom. A short time later, the youngster heard the two arguing about money, then heard nothing. Jett took his son to dinner, telling him that Brand was sleeping.

The next day, the fifth-grader found Brand's body wrapped in a blanket in Jett's closet. The next day Jett told his son they needed "to get rid of the body" because it was starting to stink. The two loaded her body into the back of Jett's SUV, then dumped it in the field where it was found on June 22, the day after Father's Day.

Jett, 40, is being held without bail, according to the Orlando Sentinel. His son was placed with a relative by the Department of Children and Families.
