Deliveryman Held Hostage in His Own Truck

Victim robbed and held captive early Wednesday at Miami Walgreen's

A deliveryman's stop at a Miami store turned into a terrifying hostage ordeal, according to police.

The incident happened around 6:15 a.m. at the Walgreen’s on 200 Southwest 13th Street, after the victim was robbed and held hostage in the cooler compartment of his truck while his captor drove off.

The suspect, a white Latin male with black hair, approached the victim and made a motion like he had a gun and then ordered the victim into the cooler of his delivery truck.

After taking the victim’s wallet, keys and cellular phone, the perpetrator drove the truck to the corner of Southwest 1st Avenue and 15th Road where he abandoned the vehicle.

The victim later forced his way out of the cooler and called the police.

The Miami Police Department’s robbery unit is still investigating though no arrest has been made.

Anyone with info on the robbery/abduction is asked to call the Miami CrimeStoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
