Gunman opens fire on highway motoristand his pregnant wife

Police are searching for a gunman who opened fire on a tourist who was driving with his pregnant wife on I-95 Monday night in North Miami.

The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. as the victim was driving southbound near Northwest 95th Street.

Police say the gunman was a passenger in a car that pulled alongside the victim's car when he suddenly opened fire. The driver was hit in the face and was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious but stable condition and released later Tuesday morning. His wife, who is pregnant, was not injured.

The couple is believed to be tourists from Colombia.

The vehicle the gunman was in was described as a tan, 4-door vehicle.

Police said they have no motive for the shooting.
