It's official. Father Alberto is now a married priest.

According to Miami-Dade court records, Alberto Cutié and Ruhama Canellis were married today in a Coral Gables courthouse by a judge. Speculation was that the two were expected to be wed later this month, but apparently the rush to consummate the marriage proved to be too strong.

Cutié, who was the face of the youth movement in the Catholic church, recently switched to the Episcopalian faith to marry the love of his life. After years of keeping his relationship with Canellis a secret and violating his vow of celibacy, Cutié finally made the single mother the preacher's wife.

The Miami Herald reported that the Rt. Rev. Leo Frade, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida, will officiate at a religious wedding ceremony, expected to happen in the next two weeks.

Off-duty Miami officers have already been hired to serve as security for what's sure to be a high-profile affair, but Cutié and his new bride might want to rethink using cops as security.

That's because a bizarre lawsuit was filed last week by an ex-boyfriend of Cutié's lady, reported the Miami New Times, accusing Cutié and Canellis of conspiring with a cop to have him thrown out of the country.

The lawsuit alleges that Capt. Antonio Sanchez, a Biscayne cop who has been working security for the couple, falsely arrested an Indonesian man who claims he was Canellis' boyfriend for over over three years.

The man, Maxi Ratunuman, says he and Canellis were going to marry before Cutié came into the picture, and apparently wanted Ratunuman, who was apparently living here illegally, to scram.
