Fowl Play: Family's Pet Duck Stolen From Front Yard

Cape Coral family searches for ducknapper

Call it fowl play.

A family on Florida's west coast says their beloved pet duck was stolen from their front yard, and so far there are few clues as to who stole him.

The Miller family, of Cape Coral, say they were out on an evening walk recently when Charlie the duck disappeared.

"In a matter of 10 minutes, he vanished," Bob Miller told NBC 2.

Neighbors claim they saw a suspicious box truck pull up in front of the Miller house, and that whoever took Charlie may have been driving it.

"He's our pet, we miss him," added Bob Miller's wife Karen. "He followed me and my husband everywhere. We were his family."

The Millers say Charlie always stayed in their front yard, and that they took him everywhere, including beach trips and other family vacations.

The family spent a day last week passing out flyers in the hopes of catching Charlie's captors.

"I just hope whoever took him returns him and doesn't use him for dinner," Karen said.
