The young punk robber who met his match in a 77-year-old woman who bruised and battered him out of her Hialeah house during a failed February home invasion has been caught, police said.
Nathaniel Rabell, 26, was arrested Wednesday and charged with armed home invasion and battery on a person over the age of 65 for the February 27th incident.
According to police, Rabell waited for the elderly woman's husband to leave her house before knocking on the door, and the unidentified victim was nice enough let Rabell in.
Once inside the home, Rabell pushed the woman to the ground, causing her to hit her head on the tile floor. He then pulled out a handgun and demanded money while threatening the woman.
Rather than give him what he wanted, the tough old lady got up from the floor and started hitting Rabell, causing him to drop his gun.
Rabell hit the old woman repeatedly, but the gritty granny just kept fighting back until Rabell was forced to flee the home.
Rabell didn't get any property, and from the sound of things, he was lucky to escape with his life.
The inept thief is being held without bond in a Miami-Dade jail.
