14-Year-Old boy in serious condition after adult opens fire

A 14-year-old boy is in serious condition after he was shot multiple times in Fort Lauderdale late Tuesday night.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of Northwest 29th Way in Roosevelt Gardens, as the teen, identified as Victor Ogiste, and his friends were hanging out outside.

According to police, an argument between Ogiste and a man in his late 30s or early 40s broke out, and that's when the older man opened fire.

Ogiste was rushed to Broward General Medical Center where authorities said he's in serious condition. Police said his injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.

The shooter fled the scene.

Friends of Ogiste said the man opened fire for no reason, and police said they have no motive for the shooting and are still investigating.
