Merhige Gets His “Most Wanted” Close Up

Paul Merhige has been on the run since killing his family on Thanksgiving

Paul Michael Merhige is becoming as synonymous with holidays as football (for very different reasons).

The Miami man who killed four of his relatives at Thanksgiving dinner will now be featured the day after Christmas on "America's Most Wanted."

The Thanksgiving Day massacre in Jupiter was also in the show's telecast on Saturday, but producers plan on doing an in-depth piece on Merhige and what may have led up to the fatal encounter. Several reports after the shooting said that Merhige, 35, had severe mental problems.

But he has been able to evade local law enforcement and federal authorities for nearly a month now despite having his face plastered all over Florida and in other states. Jupiter Police recently released an updated "Wanted" poster with more pictures of Merhige and the car he may be driving.

A digital billboard on Interstate 95 has also been set up to notify motorists and travelers to be on the look out.

The reward for information leading to Merhige's arrest is now $35,000.

On Nov. 25, Merhige had dinner with his family in the quiet Palm Beach County community when he, without warning, opened fire on his family. He allegedly killed his twin sisters from Miami, an aunt from Jupiter and a 6-year-old cousin, Makayla Sitton.

Surveillance camera footage of Merhige in the hours and days before the shooting show him shopping for guns and handling business at a car dealership.
