It would be hard to top the star power of last night's "Hope for Haiti," but tonight, one Spanish-language network is going to give George Clooney a run for his charity money from right here in Miami.
And a few weeks from now, BET will give it a shot over Super Bowl Weekend. Get your phone fingers ready, 305!
First, Univision will air "Unidos Por Haiti" tonight at 7 p.m. as an expanded version of the popular Miami-based variety show Sábado Gigante. While host Don Francisco fills the Anderson Cooper role live from Port-au-Prince, some of the biggest stars in Latin America will perform from the show's South Florida studios.
Others will be brought live from New York, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Thalia, Willy Chirino, Alejandro Sanz, Juanes, Paulina Rubio, and Daddy Yankee are among dozens of celebrities slated to sing or appear alongside over 50 personalities from Univision, TeleFutura, Galavision and Univision Radio. If you've ever seen Univision, you know that much personality might actually break Red Cross phone lines.
As if to be sure that happens, the show will be seen in 10 countries across Latin America as well as the U.S.
Up next: BET's "SOS Saving Ourselves: Help for Haiti" concert, broadcast live from American Airlines Arena on February 5. The three-hour affair, hosted by Diddy and Queen Latifah, will be shown on VH1, BET, MTV, and Centric.

BET says they chose Miami based on its proximity to the disaster and its large Haitian population. We're guessing the fact that everyone who's anyone will already be in Miami had something to do with it, too. Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, Justin Bieber, Robin Thicke, and Pharrell Williams will perform along with others yet to be announced.
"Help for Haiti" will benefit Yéle Haiti, CARE and Project Medishare. And unlike the other telethons, locals can attend: BET says they'll announce ticketing information soon.
