The South Florida mother of five kids whose father is accused of beating them with a machete has also been arrested.
Latoya Richardson, 27, faces aggravated child abuse and child neglect charges related to the incident that happened earlier this month.
Richardson, police say, failed to protect her kids from bad dad Miky Sinaise, 29, who beat the kids, aged between 8-months old to 8-years-old, with the flat side of a machete.
The alleged abuse was discovered after a Department of Children and Families worker showed up to Sinaise's West Palm Beach home for a routine visit. When asked about the bruises on their backs and chests, one of the kids told the inspector that they were beat with the frightening weapon.
The children were taken to a hospital for evaluation, but none of their injuries were found to be life threatening. The kids were placed into the custody of DCF.
Richardson was arrested after she told investigators she could have left the home with the children, but stayed there anyway.
Sinaise, who was also charged with aggravated child abuse and child neglect, told police he hit the kids because he was stressed out and that "he knew he went too far with the discipline."
