One person was hospitalized after a police-involved shooting at a Miami mall parking lot.

Aventura police spokesman Chris Goranitis said officers responded to a report Saturday afternoon of a man driving a Mustang and pointing a gun at another motorist. Police said it was a case of road rage.

Goranitis said officers chased the Mustang's driver into the garage at the Aventura Mall. The driver allegedly pointed his gun at the officers, and an exchange of gunfire followed.

The man was hospitalized. The officers were not injured.

The parking garage was closed while investigators worked at the scene.
