It's never a good idea to punch a Sheriff's deputy in the face. It's probably even a worse idea if you are an assistant state attorney.

Apparently, Broward prosecutor David Braun didn't get the memo. He faces battery on a law enforcement officer charges for attacking a BSO deputy who was trying to arrest his younger brother at a bar. He was arrested, too.

Braun probably doesn't have very many friends in Broward jail seeing that it's been his job for the past three years to put people behind bars. He posted a $1,000 bond and has been placed on administrative leave.

According to the Sun Sentinel, Braun's younger brother Derek got all bent out of shape when the waitress at the Carolina Ale House in Weston asked to see ID when he ordered a round of drinks. That's when he shoved an undercover BSO deputy working security, who quickly subdued the over-matched 26-year old. That's when Braun started punching the deputy from behind.

At least now, Braun gets to see what life is like from the eyes of defendants.
