Rapper Saved By the Skin of His Teeth

Lil Wayne had his sentence delayed until March 2

Lil Wayne often raps about the bling in his mouth, but now he has reason to talk about his teeth.

The Louisiana-raised rapper who has made Miami his new home is getting a reprieve of sorts from a New York judge, who delayed sentencing Young Money to jail because the rapper needs some dental surgery.

It's unclear what the surgeries are exactly for, but we could imagine it takes a while to polish all the diamonds and platinum in Lil Wayne's mouth.

Lil Wayne was scheduled to be sentenced to close to a year in jail Tuesday after he pleaded guilty in October to a charge of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, admitting he illegally had a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun on his tour bus in July 2007. Police found the weapon when they stopped the bus after a Manhattan concert.

Sentencing is now scheduled for March Lil 2.

Wayne's attorney said the rapper tried to get the surgery done before sentencing but his dentist was out of town doing some charitable work.
