Police and the family of a South Florida woman who went missing over a month ago are reaching out again for the public's help in finding out what happened to her and increasing the reward in the case.
At a Tuesday morning news conference, Hallandale Beach Police announced that the reward for information that will help find Lynda Meier has been increased to $51,000.
Meier, 40, was last seen leaving her Hallandale Beach condo building on the early hours of June 4. Her car, a red Cadillac Escalade, was found just over a week later, abandoned in an Opa Locka parking lot.
Meier's mother, Phylis Meier, said she was supposed to meet her daughter that day at a doctor's appointment, but when her daughter didn't show, she immediately began to fear the worst.
"It wasn't like her to not show up to something like that," Phylis Meier said last month.
The day after Meier went missing, two women used her credit card to go on a shopping spree at a local Walmart, but after police questioned them, they said they didn't believe they had anything to do with Meier's disappearance.
On Tuesday, police released video of two men who they are calling persons of interest who used Meier's ATM card in the days after she went missing. The men used her card at two different banks in Miami, police said.
Also released Tuesday were surveillance videos of Meier leaving her building and using an ATM the morning she disappeared.
"I'm pleading for a small miracle that we can find her alive and well and come back to us and I need everybody's help out there," Phylis Meier said Tuesday.
