A violent robber used a rock to bash his victim over the head then made his getaway on a public bus in a brazen daytime theft in Hallandale Beach, and the whole thing was caught on tape.

It all happened around noon on Monday as John Klecha, a manager of the MI-6 nightclub at Gulfstream Racetrack and Casino, was headed to his car.

A video of the scene shows Klecha, 59, being followed to his car by the suspect. As Klecha gets into his car, the suspect lies that he has a flat tire. When Klecha gets out to inspect the tire, the man bashes him over the head with a rock and grabs Klecha's satchel which contained the club's deposits.

Though other people are seen nearby in the parking lot, nobody seems to notice what has just happened.

And as if the midday robbery wasn't bold enough, the suspect then makes his getaway on a Broward County bus heading South on U.S. 1.

The bus getaway is also caught on camera.

Police said they're surprised with the audacity with which the robbery was carried out.

"The place is under heavy surveillance video, there is a lot of security," said Sonia Quinonez, with the Hallandale Beach Police Department. "Police officers are there, we're working around the clock."

Klecha was transported to Aventura Hospital for treatment to his head injury and was later released.

The suspect is described as having a thin build, about 6'2" to 6'3" and wearing black pants and a black hoodie.

Police ask anyone with info on the crime to call CrimeStoppers at 954-493-TIPS. There is a $1,000 reward for info leading to a capture.
