Second Cyclist in 2 Days Killed by Car in Sunrise

Man is second roadway fatality in collision with car in 24 hours

For the second day in a row, a man riding a bicycle has been struck and killed in Sunrise.

The latest incident happened around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, in the 2500 block of W. Sunrise Blvd.

Police say a silver Toyota Camry stationwagon was traveling eastbound on Sunrise Blvd. when it collided with the unidentified bicyclist.

The victim, who police described as a white middle-aged man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tuesday's fatal accident happened at around 6 a.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of Flamingo Road near Sunrise Blvd.

In Tuesday's incident, a woman driving a white sedan struck and killed a cyclist who was also pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the drivers stopped and remained at the scene in both incidents.
