Big, gaudy luxury ships are nothing new to Miami, but soon the city will play host the biggest and gaudiest ship of them all.
The Oasis of the Seas, the world's largest cruise liner is on its way from Finland to the Magic City, with a quick stop in England.
The 1,200 foot-long, $1.5 billion dollar vessel left Helsinki today for the 12-day voyage to Port Everglades.
The ship, which will be operated by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, has 2,700 cabins, can accomodate over 6,300 passengers and 2,100 crew members, has 16 passenger decks, an open-air arena the size of a football field, a 750-seat theater and a skating rink.
The Oasis will begin operations in December.
