Subway: Eat Jewish

North Miami will be home to a new, Kosher fast food dining experience

Forget $5 foot longs. How about a Kosher one?

The Michael-Ann Russel Jewish Community Center of North Miami is now the new home of its very own Subway for Jews. The Kosher sub shop will obviously offer a different menu than your traditional Subway and you won't find any catchy jingles sung here.

Now before you ask, "Why would anyone want a Kosher Subway sub?" Let it be known that this is the 11th store opening nationwide. And Jared, the Subway guy, is Jewish so it kind of makes sense. Not really, but whatever.

Subway diners will have their choice of sandwich meats, including turkey imported from Israel, meatball, pastrami, steak, tuna, beef rye, salami, bologna and roast beef. The restaurant also will serve non-dairy cheese and cookies, and kosher soups.

Maybe they'll serve black and white cookies too, and to make the subs look like regular Subway subs, American soy cheese will be an option. You let us know how it tastes.

As an added bonus, you can get your bread blessed by the full-time rabbi called a "mashgiach."

The rabbi also makes sure that all the utensils are kept kosher.

But what about the song?

Well most footlongs will start at around $6, and five bucks will only get you a six-inch sub. Oy vey!
