As if the tickets to get into Land Shark weren't expensive enough, getting out of town after the Super Bowl is going to cost an arm and a leg.

Well, maybe not an appendage but it will cost an extra $50 to fly out of the three major South Florida Airports on the day after the Super Bowl this year.

Travelers are used to paying all sorts of charges for flying the friendly skies, but the new Super Bowl Tax might be a first.

American, Delta, United and Northwest are upping their fares by $50 to fly out of Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach for one day only - February 8, 2010 -- in the hopes of capitalizing on the out-of-towners trying to get out of Miami.

And with the Dolphins sitting at 4-5 and little hope of even making the playoffs, that could mean a whole lot of football fans from other cities invading Miami.

"Whether it's called a surcharge or a fair change, it comes down to the same thing — good old supply and demand," American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith told CNBC.com.

Most people booking their flights might not even notice the charge, which will be rolled into the price of the flight. Besides, after you've paid for your Super Bowl ticket, hotel, transportation and gargantuan bar tabs, what's another $50?
