He may have killed millions and started a war in which the entire world participated, but Adolf Hitler's got nothing on Sheila Jones' homeowners association.

The kooky woman from Indian Harbour Beach in central Florida said she's being harassed by neighbors and she's fighting back with a message spray painted in big red letters on her home.

"Hitler would be a welcome neighbor here. Stop the harassment to my family," the message reads, and neighbors are predictably upset.

Jones and her husband, who have been out of work for awhile, are behind over $4,000 in homeowners' dues. Jones said she's received anonymous, harassing letters from neighbors, calling her family white trash. She's also been warned about the upkeep of her yard.

"We're trying to find jobs, and then you just get, you know, hate mail from the neighbors," Jones told WESH. "It's the same people over and over, it's just horrible."

Jones said she can't afford the monthly $120 association payments. The president of the association said everyone has to adhere to the same rules.

"This is just so little, so minute," said neighbor Toni Bearden. "You know, I think people just need to learn how to work together."

Jones said she's made her point, and plans to paint over the controversial sign.

As for having the Fuhrer for a neighbor?

"I didn't want to insult anybody," Jones said, "because I know it's a huge thing, but that's how I feel living here."
