1 Dead, 2 Arrested in Coral Springs Shooting

Coral Springs Police are trying to figure out what led to a Monday afternoon shooting that left 22-year-old Omar Khan dead.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of a Bank of America in Coral Springs. Police said they were called to the scene after people heard gunfire. Witnesses said the shots came from a white sport utility vehicle. The SUV was stopped and police detained the two people inside.

Police said after Khan was shot, he drove himself to a home not too far from the scene and called 911. He was airlifted to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

“He’s such a good [expletive] guy man. He didn’t deserve that,” said Joey Williams, a friend of Khan’s. “Over what? [expletive] drugs!"

Police said Robert Morris, 23, and Roderick Dalton, 20, were arrested in the shooting. Both face murder charges and were being held without bond early Tuesday, records showed.

According to arrest reports, a witness found Khan in distress and bleeding after he was shot five times. When she told Khan she would call 911, he replied "I'm okay, don't call the police," the report said.

Police haven’t officially said what led to the shooting, but said the investigation will look into the possibility it had something to do with narcotics.
