A three-car accident on I-95 and Sunrise Boulevard Saturday left one person dead and one with serious injuries, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
A 1999 Isuzu Rodeo was traveling southbound on I-95 and passing on the right shoulder when, in an attempt to switch lanes, struck another car in the front. The second car veered left and struck a third car, officials said.
The driver of the Isuzu, Cesar Pazo Demoraes, 45, lost control of the car and overturned. The passenger, 52-year-old Peter Andrew Povolny of Pompano Beach, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
Demoraes was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
