Man Dead in Shooting at South Beach Condo

Miami Beach Police are investigating after a man was killed in a shooting at a South Beach condominium Friday morning.

The shooting was reported at the Flamingo South Beach at 1500 Bay Road around 9 a.m.

"At nine in the morning, it could've been anyone. It could have been a baby," said resident, Danielle Ravel.

Police said the shooting happened on the 3rd floor skyway of the building. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police didn't identify the victim but an acquaintance said he is in his 30s and was an Army Ranger.

"He was into some things that were really bad, and they got him. They got him," said Angelo Gotsis, a friend of the victim.

There were no suspects at large and police said they had "parties of interest" detained while they investigate the shooting.
