A driver was airlifted to the hospital after he got out of his truck and was struck by another truck on the Florida Turnpike in Broward County Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike near the Sawgrass Expressway. Florida Highway Patrol officials said the driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital.
The crash had all southbound lanes of the Turnpike closed in the area.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
