Bomb Scare Suspect In Bond Court: “I'm Suing Everybody”

A judge ordered a mental health evaluation after Lee Lewis appeared in bond court Sunday

The man arrested after a bomb scare shut down a portion of the Palmetto Expressway Friday evening was ordered to undergo a mental evaluation by a judge at a bond hearing on Sunday.

“[All the charges are] getting dropped and I’m suing everybody," responded Lee E. Lewis, who was agitated and muttering under his breath in court.

Bond was set at $36,000 for the Hollywood resident, who describes himself as a 'fireplay entertainer and fetish model' on his MySpace page.

The 28-year-old faces charges for illegally possessing ammunition as a convicted felon, methamphetamine possession, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to sell, knowingly driving with a suspended license, and unlawful altering of a driver's license.

Police say Lewis was already wanted on the weapons violation when an abandoned hearse registered in his name caused a rush hour standstill on the Palmetto.

Miami Gardens Police Chief Matthew Boyd told the Miami Herald on Saturday that weapons observed in the hearse and subject to a five-hour bomb squad investigation were fake.

“They were good replicas, but they were fake,” Boyd told the Herald.

No explosives were found in the vehicle, the discovery of which prompted a shutdown of the expressway in both directions during rush hour.

Witnesses reported seeing a person fitting Lewis' description leaving the hearse where it sat under an overpass near 167th Street and Northwest 17th Avenue.

Records show Lewis has previously served time for grand theft auto and possession.
