Teen Killed Parents, Threw Party: Cops

A Port St. Lucie teen arrested after police find parents bludgeoned to death

A Port St. Lucie teen is being charged with first-degree murder after police found the bodies of his parents inside their home on Sunday.

Police say they received an anonymous tip Sunday morning that 17-year old Tyler Hadley had murdered his parents and the bodies were still in the home on Grandeur Avenue.

The parents, Blake, 54, and Mary-Jo Hadley, 47, were discovered inside the locked master bedroom, their bodies partially covered with books, files, and towels, police said.

According to investigators, the parents suffered blunt force trauma to the head and torso. A hammer found in between the bodies is believed to be the murder weapon.

Neighbors said the teenager hosted a party late Saturday night with between 40 and 60 people attending. Police think the parents were killed before the party, but aren't sure if those at the party knew the parents were inside the home.

Police say Tyler Hadley had sent out an invitation to the party on Facebook Saturday afternoon.

Tyler Hadley is being held without bond in the juvenile system, but will be charged as an adult, police said.
