16-Year-Old Shot at Party in SW Miami-Dade: Police

Miami-Dade Detectives are asking for the public's help in finding the person responsible for shooting a 16-year-old girl early Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred at a banquet hall located at 18901 SW 106 Avenue, around 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

According to police, Joena Riley, 16, was leaving a party when she saw a group of people fighting in the parking lot. She continued walking and, as she was crossing the street, heard multiple gunshots and immediately collapsed realizing she had been struck in the hip.

Riley was airlifted to Kendall Regional Hospital in critical but stable condition.
