A toddler is dead after being found face down in a pool at a Florida home near Yulee.
Local news outlets report that the 18-month-old boy was unresponsive Tuesday morning when his 16-year-old baby sitter pulled him from the backyard pool in Yulee.
Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper says deputies responded and began performing CPR until they met up with paramedics. The child was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Authorities say the teenage girl had been watching two younger siblings and three other children. The boy had apparently got to the pool by crawling out a pet door.
The death remains under investigation.
