2 Boaters Stranded for 2 Days in Atlantic Off Florida Coast

The Coast Guard says two boaters were stranded in the Atlantic off northeastern Florida for two days before a passing vessel spotted them.

Officials say the men aboard the disabled 20-foot boat were stranded 40 miles off St. Augustine when a good Samaritan spotted them Saturday morning.

The Coast Guard dispatched a crew to rescue the men and tow their boat back to shore. No injuries were reported.

The men told the Coast Guard that their fuel line ruptured, disabling the boat. They also lost power, so they could not use their radio to call for help. The men said they used a tarp to cover themselves from the elements.
