The lifeless bodies of a woman and a man were discovered inside of a southwest Miami-Dade home following a wellness check by a family member Monday, police said.

The discovery was made at 13433 SW 289th Terrace, near the intersection of SW 134th Avenue, late Monday afternoon. A father visited the home to check on his son after the man did not show up for work on Monday.

"His father was concerned – came to his house to check on the welfare of this young man, and that's where he found two bodies," Miami-Dade Police spokesman Roy Rutland said.

The two have not been identified, but neighbors said a couple had recently moved into the home, and that they were engaged and looking forward to starting a life together.

Detectives said they are looking at all possible leads.
