2 Hospitalized in North Lauderdale Shooting; Police Search for Suspect

Two teenagers are in the hospital, one of them in critical condition, after being shot during a street fight in North Lauderdale Saturday afternoon.

Cell phone video taken at Southwest 76th Avenue and Southwest 10th Court appears to show two teens fighting. The video ends with the suspect, who is wearing a grey shirt, black sweatpants and flip flops, pulling out a firearm and opening fire.

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are working to identify a person of interest who was at a shooting.

"I couldn’t see exactly what was going on," Anirudh Singh told NBC 6. "I just saw a bunch of the kids run up. One fell on the ground and the others went to help him and I took my phone and call 911."

Witnesses said one of the teens was shot in the stomach and the other in the arm. Both boys were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition.

Officers have not yet released their names.

Anyone with information about the name or whereabouts of the person of interest is asked to contact BSO at 954-321-4200 or Broward Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
