24 Arrests Made in Massage Parlor Prostitution Sting: Hollywood Police

Hollywood police have arrested two dozen suspects in a massive operation targeting prostitution at massage parlors in the city, officials said Thursday.

"Operation Red Light" was a five-month investigation that targeted prostitution and human trafficking at 20 different locations, police said.

Undercover officers from Hollywood Police and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations found evidence that women were performing sexual acts on customers at the massage parlors.

Investigators also found beds, clothing and food that showed some of the women were living in the parlors, and some of the women admitted they were living there, police said.

"These women face charges of solicitation of prostitution, operating without a license, misrepresenting themselves as licensed massage therapists," Hollywood Police spokeswoman Miranda Grossman said.

Two of the women who are owners of massage parlors also face bribery charges. Giselle Guo, owner of Lucky Spa at 7060 Taft Street, and Yan Zheng, owner of Hollywood Unisex at 2126 Hollywood Boulevard, told an undercover detective they would pay him to provide protection from police and agreed to pay him $400 a month to keep officers away from the businesses, police said.
