3 Residents, 1 Dog Rescued from Ft. Lauderdale House Fire

Three roommates and a pet dog were saved from an early morning blaze in Fort Lauderdale.

The fire broke out Wednesday morning along Tortugas Lane near Riverland Road with flames engulfing two houses.

According to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, three roommates who lived in one of the homes were rushed to Broward Health Medical Center. Two were in critical condition while the third was listed in serious condition. A pet dog was also rescued from the fire.

The second house the fire spread to was vacant.

The floor of one of the houses collapsed while firefighters were inside. No one was hurt and all firefighters made it out safely.
