A $3,000 reward is now being offered to help find the thief who stole a car with a 10-month-old baby inside in Fort Lauderdale.

Broward Crime Stoppers announced the reward Wednesday in the kidnapping and theft that happened Monday afternoon outside the Laundromax at 201 W. Sunrise Boulevard.

An amber alert was issued and the car was later found abandoned in the 900 block of W. McNab Road in Pompano Beach with Velasco safe inside.

The suspect is described as a black male, 16-20 years old, about 5-foot-9 and 145 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
