3rd Man Arrested in Miami in Lakeland Triple Homicide

A third suspect who was wanted in connection with an "execution-style" triple homicide in Lakeland was arrested in Miami, authorities said.

Jamaal John Smith, 25, was taken into custody Thursday night in North Miami by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Smith was booked into the Miami-Dade jail and will be extradited back to Polk County, officials said. No attorney information was available.

Smith, the alleged shooter, is expected to be charged with three counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of armed burglary.

Authorities say Smith went on the run after the Jan. 6 killings of 24-year-old David Washington, 31-year-old Eneida Branch and 23-year-old Angelica Guadalupe Castro.

City of Miami Police detectives arrested 35-year-old Andrew Joseph and 27-year-old Jonathan Alcegaire in connection with the shootings last month, officials said.

Authorities found the victims shot to death at a Lakeland home. Eighteen-year-old Felix Campos was shot in the face, but survived. Sheriff Grady Judd says the victims were in the drug trade.
