4-Year-Old Twins Rescued From House Fire

A family, including four-year-old twins, was rescued from a house fire in Miami Thursday night.

A neighbor, Jason Williams said he called 911 as he watched smoke billow out of his neighbor's house along northwest 49th street.

He ran over to see if anyone was inside and he heard voices.

"I noticed the blaze broke out on the side of the house, the windows started breaking out and the flames came out. I was like 'oh my God, help, help, help,'" Williams said.

Two girls Brooke Ethridge and her twin sister Courtney were in a front bedroom banging on the window.

Firefighters were able to rescue the two girls and rush them to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Their grandmother, Felicia Ethridge fears her son Bernard, the twins' uncle, may have set the fire.

"And I begged and I pleaded with the court not to release him, and they told me they were going to release him. And they released him and he came and burned down the house," Ethridge said

Arson investigators were on scene as the family now looks to regroup and figure out exactly what happened.

The two girls suffered smoke inhalation but will be alright.

Their grandmother could not say where her son was as of Thursday night. She did mention that he had been taken in for a mental evaluation just a few days ago.
