The scene on the 1400 block of Northwest 54th St in Miami, after a stabbing led to a car accident and five homeless men injured.
An altercation between two homeless men led to a stabbing, a car accident and five homeless people hospitalized in Miami Tuesday night.
The wild scene began on the 1400 block of Northwest 54th St., when a fight broke out between two homeless men and one of them ended up stabbed, according to Det. Manny Castillo with the Miami Police Department.
As the stabbed man fled the scene in his car, things got worse.
"The one in the car who was stabbed fled the scene, and in the course of doing so drove up on the sidewalk and struck approximately four more homeless people who were laying here," Castillo said.
The driver was found a short time later, sitting in his car parked near Jackson Memorial Hospital. He and the four homeless men were all taken to the hospital.
Three of the men are in critical condition.
Vincent Lamar Ashley, himself homeless and a witness to the chaos, said it was a brutal scene.
"It was tragic, it was unnecessary and it could have been avoided...it was real bad," Ashley said. "He took out all those people, he actually ran up on the sidewalk, ran the people over and kept going. I can't even imagine why he did it."
