$5,000 in Hair Extensions Stolen in North Miami Beach Beauty Store Armed Robbery

Four youths, including a little boy, stole $5,000 worth of hair extensions and brandished a gun in an armed robbery at a North Miami Beach beauty shop, police say.

The four — three boys and a girl, all believed to be minors and one appearing to be under 10 years old — took the hair extensions from a storage room in the back of the store at 1601 Northeast 163rd Street on Saturday evening, police say.

When store employees confronted them, one of the suspects pulled a gun from underneath his shirt, and all four fled on foot, police said.

"I'm shocked. That little boy is maybe six or seven years old, and he stole all the stuff with the other guy," store manager Nur Uddin said.

The robbery was caught on the store's surveillance system and happened while a customer was inside. Uddin said the one with the gun wasn't old enough to drive.

"Fourteen years old, and a boy has a gun," he said. "I was shocked, and the customer was shocked too, and I thought, 'Well, just let him go.'"
