6 Cuban Rafters Come Ashore at Virginia Key: MFR

Six Cuban migrants arrived at the shores of Virginia Key on a raft Thursday morning after three days at sea, Miami Fire Rescue officials said.

The six rafters were checked out by rescue crews. They were taken to the Dania Beach patrol station for processing. They say they were at sea for three days.

Officials say the six appear to be in good health, and do not believe there is anyone else to look for in the water.

Officials with Border Patrol say that typically, cases such as this will be handed over to Catholic Charities to provide any additional assistance the individuals may need.
