No. 1 – Isolated showers are in the forecast across South Florida, but the wet weather could arrive just in time for the weekend. Keep your NBC 6 app handy for First Alert Doppler 6000 and any push alerts for severe weather in the area.

No. 2 - Two police officers were involved in multiple early morning crashes while chasing an alleged car battery thief in Miami Gardens.

The initial crash took place near the intersection of Northwest 167th Street and 27th Avenue, where a police SUV crashed into a light pole while chasing the alleged suspect and smashed the front end of the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody while the officer was taken to the hospital but later released.

No. 3 - Police arrested a West Palm Beach man after he allegedly kidnapped a 12-year-old boy who was walking home from his Boynton Beach school.

Police told NBC affiliate WPTV-TV that officers saw a truck driving erratically after getting 911 calls of the incident before a child jumped out of the vehicle. Witnesses continued to follow the truck onto I-95, where they blocked it in until police arrived and arrested 26-year-old Timothy Miller.

No. 4 - The will that Jeffrey Epstein signed just two days before his jailhouse suicide puts more than $577 million in assets into a trust fund that could make it more difficult for his dozens of accusers to collect damages.

Estate lawyers and other experts say prying open the trust and dividing up the financier's riches is not going to be easy and could take years. Epstein, 66, killed himself Aug. 10 in New York while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

No. 5 - South Florida is gearing up for tonight's pre-season match-up between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars - as all eyes will be on wide receiver Kenny Stills following his fiery comments on rapper Jay-Z's new agreement with the NFL.

Kickoff is at 8 pm at Hard Rock Stadium as the Fins are 1-1 in the preseason games so far.

No. 6 - Amid threats of immigration roundups, deputies in Monroe County handed over a passenger in one car to Border Patrol – now, that man’s attorney is questioning if the arrest was even legal.
