Weather wise, it will be a warm and mostly dry Presidents’ Day holiday across South Florida as part of a pattern that will see highs near the mid-80s for most of the week.

No. 1 - Police from several agencies in Miami-Dade County, as well as a member of the US Marshals, took an attempted homicide fugitive into custody early Monday morning after a standoff in Miami Beach.

Officials were at the scene for hours near Alton Road and Dade Boulevard. Around 1 a.m., officers found the subject and took him into custody.

No. 2 - A family is looking for a place to stay after being displaced by a fire in Southwest Miami-Dade.

Thick smoke and flames consumed the second floor bedroom of a home on Southwest 271st Street and 120th Avenue. Inside the home were two children, their wheelchair-bound uncle and four cats.

No. 4 - A sixth grader in Florida was arrested after his refusal to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance escalated into a confrontation with police and school officials, authorities said.

The unnamed boy was charged with disrupting a school function and resisting an officer without violence on Feb. 4, the Lakeland Police Department said in a news release.

No. 5 - Chicago police said Sunday they're still seeking a follow-up interview with Jussie Smollett after receiving new information that "shifted" their investigation of a reported attack on the "Empire" actor.
