Weather wise, the new month is going to start off warm with temperatures in the uppers 90s and rain chances increasing by the late afternoon and early evening hours.

No. 1 - Florida will become one of the last states to make texting while driving a primary traffic offense. The new law, which goes into effect Monday, will also ban the use of any handheld wireless communications devices in school and construction zones.

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed some 200 bills into law. Though some laws went into effect immediately after DeSantis' signature, others begin halfway through the year.

No. 2 - One man was killed, one was left in critical condition and another was arrested after a violent incident in the parking lot of a Winn-Dixie, according to the Aventura Police Department.

The incident occurred at about 10 a.m. on Sunday at the Promenade Shoppes, located at 20355 Biscayne Boulevard.

No. 3 - An LGBTQ organization in Florida is facing backlash for allowing and greeting at a gay pride gala four men charged with hate crimes in the beating of gay men in Miami Beach.

The Miami-based nonprofit SAVE says in a statement that it is investigating the men's attendance and public mention at the event. Executive director Tony Lima apologized Friday, saying the men – Luis M. Alonso, Juan C. Lopez, Adonis Diaz and Pablo Reinaldo Romo – bought their own tickets after volunteering.

No. 4 - A person with knowledge of the negotiations says Jimmy Butler has agreed to a $142 million, four-year contract and will be traded to the Miami Heat by the Philadelphia 76ers.

Miami and Philadelphia were still working out some aspects of the swap, such as the addition of Dallas as the third team, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the move had not been finalized.

No. 5 - All 10 people aboard a plane that crashed into a hangar at Addison Airport in Addison, Texas, Sunday morning have died, according to an official with the National Transportation Safety Board.

A twin-engine Beechcraft BE-350 King Air crashed just after 9 a.m. Sunday, killing two crew members and eight passengers on board. The Federal Aviation Administration said the plane had just taken off for St. Petersburg, Florida, when it crashed into the private hangar.

No. 6 - A woman died of a flesh-eating bacteria two weeks after cutting her leg in the waters off Anna Maria Island in Florida, her family says.

Carolyn Fleming of Ellenton fell into a small dip in the water at the barrier island's Coquina Beach, near St. Petersburg, on Friday, June 14. On Monday, June 17, she was hospitalized and diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis, an often deadly infection commonly known as flesh-eating bacteria.

On June 27, Fleming died after suffering two strokes and organ failure during surgeries to save her leg
