Weather wise, the cooler temps have arrived in South Florida with highs struggling to reach the mid-70s for the rest of the week and dipping into the low 50s at night.
No. 1 - A man fatally shot his mother-in-law, a well-known realtor, in the head in northeast Miami-Dade before shooting and killing himself inside his car Monday night in Hollywood.
Authorities responded before 5 p.m. to the 2000 block of NE 211th Street, where the found a 70 year old woman dead inside a car, according to Miami-Dade police. The shooter, 52 years old Steven Kasimow, was later found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the vehicle.
No. 2 - The Miami-Dade Police Department has released surveillance video showing the suspects of an armed robbery in which the victim was shot in the face.
The victim – 53-year-old Miami resident Juan Mendoza – was shot on Jan. 6 shortly after 9 a.m. in the area of Northwest 30th Avenue and NW 76th Street.

No. 3 - Two men accused of spending several days posing as federal agents and approaching customers at Versailles in Little Havana are facing charges after officials say they attacked real officers at the restaurant.
Ismael Diaz, 51, and Alberto Nunez-Horta, 48, were arrested Saturday on multiple charges including falsely impersonating an officer, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, according to an arrest report.
No. 4 - The military is taking on a new and extended role on the U.S.-Mexico border, the Pentagon said Monday.
At the request of the Department of Homeland Security, the Pentagon agreed to provide personnel to operate security cameras and to lay about 150 miles of concertina wire between official ports of entry, officials said.

No. 6 - Broadway legend Carol Channing has died. She was 97 years old.
Channing's longtime publicist B. Harlon Boll confirmed she died of natural causes at 12:31 a.m. Tuesday in Rancho Mirage, California. Boll says she had twice suffered strokes in the last year.
The lanky, ebullient musical comedy star delighted American audiences over almost 5,000 performances as the scheming Dolly Levi in "Hello, Dolly" on Broadway. The role earned Channing a Tony Award in 1964.
