Weather wise, passing morning showers will lead to a dry and humid Wednesday afternoon across South Florida with high temps in the upper 80s
No. 1 – Trucks caring donations from South Florida for those who lost everything in Hurricane Michael will be leaving Aventura today and head to the panhandle. The donations have been collected for several days thanks to our partners from iHeart media.
If you're wondering how you can help, NBC 6 and our sister station Telemundo 51 are partnering with the American Red Cross to host a phone bank today from 10 am to 11:30 pm. Donations can also be made online at nbc6.com/community.
No. 2 – Breaking overnight, a fire broke out at a recycling plant in Northwest Miami-Dad near North river drive and Northwest 36th Street. No word on injuries at the location, where a similar fire broke out in July.
No. 3 – The missing teen out of Wisconsin is still nowhere to be found as the multi-state search for her that includes here in South Florida continues.
Authorities say an autopsy will be conducted on the parents of Jayme Closs who were found dead in their home.
No. 4 – The CDC is reporting 127 suspected cases of a polio-like condition called acute flaccid myelitis, or AFM. The virus can cause paralysis and mostly affects children. No cases have been confirmed here in Florida yet.
No. 5 – No one had the winning six numbers in last night’s Mega Millions drawing – meaning the jackpot is now over $860 million for the next drawing on Friday.
No. 6 - The New Kids on The Block are moving their concert to a bigger venue because so many of you wanted to see your favorite 80's boy band! Their July 2019 concert will now be at the BB&T Center and new tickets go on sale this Friday.
