1. The migrant shelter in Homestead is no longer taking in new children, government officials said.

This was confirmed by Administration for Children and Families officials as 11 members of Congress on Monday visited the facility, which is currently housing around 1,300 children.

2. Reversing decades of U.S. policy, the Trump administration said it will end all asylum protections for most migrants who arrive at the U.S.-Mexico border — the president's most forceful attempt to block asylum claims and slash the number of people seeking refuge in America.

3. All buildings in the Plantation shopping center rocked by an explosion have been declared unsafe, according to a report.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that ever building at the Market on University shopping center, which is next to the Fountains plaza, has been declared unsafe.

5. The City of Doral is unveiling a new emergency operations center on Tuesday, which is located in a Category 5 Hurricane-proof building at the Doral Police Department.

The center will serve as a hub for response and recovery operations.

6. The IHOP restaurant chain is celebrating its 61-year anniversary with a sweet deal: a short stack of original buttermilk pancakes for 58 cents.
