An 8-year-old died and three other people were injured following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale Wednesday night, authorities said.
The crash happened when one vehicle rear-ended another on I-95 North just north of Cypress Creek Road, Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky said.
The FHP said it was sent to the scene at 7:39 p.m. and arrived three minutes later.
The 8-year-old died at a hospital, Wysocky said.
Another child and two adults were also injured and were taken to area hospitals, he said.
