9-Year Old Dies After Being Shot
Two vehicles fled the scene at a gated community in Aventura

An affluent gated community in Aventura turned into a crime scene on Thursday afternoon at a 9-year-old boy was shot and killed, police said.
Police are looking for the boy's 72-year-old father, Erasmo Reina Moreno, who may be driving an older model Jeep Cherokee. The neighborhoods surrounding Aventura Lakes were sealed off most of the evening as police hunted for the shooter.
Neighbors said they saw a Jeep and a 2005 Mercedes flee the area soon after the shooting, which happened at around 3:45 p.m., according to police.
During a press conference Thursday night, police said the boy's mother discovered the boy shot in their. It's unclear if the boy died on the scene or after being taken to a nearby hospital.
