A girl who was an alleged victim of sexual abuse at a Miami day care center testified in a civil trial Wednesday and described being molested when she was 5-years-old by a then 13-year-boy in 2008.
With her curly hair pulled back with a pink bow, the 9-year-old girl testified that she was abused several times by the boy during naptime at the Discovery Day Care Center Inc. in Miami.
"He showed me his private part, and he put his private part on my mouth," the girl said.
She said the boy was put in charge of her class by his mother, who was the teacher, while she was out on a lunch break.
The girl could not recall some basic information about Discovery Day Care or her time at the center on cross-examination. She could not remember her teacher’s name.
Afterward, the alleged abuser, now a 17-year old, took the stand and denied ever molesting or even touching any child inappropriately.
The boy did plead no contest to juvenile sexual abuse charges in the criminal case in 2009 and was sentenced to counseling with adjudication withheld, but the jury in the civil trial will not be told that information.

The family of the alleged victim is asking for $25 million in damages, saying the girl is forever scarred by the experience.
