Woman Jumps on School Bus, Beats Students: Cops

Students suffered lacerations from attack by adult

A Broward woman is accused of taking her big sister responsibilities a little too far after hopping on a school bus and attacking students who were allegedly heckling her little sister, Broward Sheriff's Office said.

Cynthia Haynes, 23, was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts cruelty toward child abuse and burglary for the attack, an arrest report stated.

The two students, ages 11 and 14, suffered lacerations to the face after being punched and slapped by Haynes, the report stated.

The incident happened while the school bus was transporting students from William Dandy Middle School around 2:15 p.m.

Haynes beat the students in front of a bus "full of students," the report stated.

Haynes, who is the parent of two small children, was also charged with interfering with the education process. Prosecutors also said she has an extensive and violent juvenile criminal record.

Haynes was being held in Broward County jail on no bond. It's unclear if she had an attorney.
