Animal Adoption Fees Waived for “Just One Day”

Maimi-Dade Animal Services is celebrating "Just One Day" with waived adoption fees.

June 11 is national "Just One Day," where animal shelters nationwide pledge not to euthanize any animals that can be saved.

To celebrate, Miami-Dade County Animal Services is waiving adoption and rescue fees from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday for all pets over 4-months-old at the shelter located at 7401 NW 74th Street in Miami. Adoptions include spaying/neutering, vaccinations and microchips.

Animal Services will also hold adoptions with waived fees from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center at 111 NW 1st Street.

Adoption fees for dogs over 35 pounds will be waived until August 31.

Miami-Dade Animal Services has participated in No Kill programs since 2012 and has increased the save rate to 84 percent for dogs and 72 percent for cats to date, according to a press release. The goal is to attain a 90 percent or better save rate.
